WordCamp Europe brought bright minds under one roof to share and exchange valuable ideas to better WordPress and its future. It was the 1st in-person WordCamp Europe in three years, so it was more special proof that we have overcome the pandemic. A number of speakers, organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and attendees have made the WCEU 2022 a successful event.

With unforgettable moments and emotions, our experience at this year’s WordCamp Europe is beyond imaginable. Still, we believe that it’s our job to tell you how these three days went and why this event is worth attending.

June 2, 2022, Contributor Day:

The first day of the WordCamp is called Contributor Day. This day is designated for contributing to WordPress. Since WordPress is an open-source project, people like us get a chance to share our ideas to make it better. Contributor Day is organized a day before WCEU, where we can share our contributions. At the same venue, Contributor Day took place on Thursday, June 2, 2022. No commercial activity occurred during this day, and the turnout was exceptional as over 800 contributors participated – Setting a new record!

We got to collaborate with new and existing contributors, meet new people and learn different ways to get involved in contributing to WordPress. This day was great as it was for people of all levels of experience and skills. Team APPExperts also participated in Contributor Day and had a great time interacting with amazing people.

June 3, 2022 (Day 1)

Milan Ivanović, the Global Lead of WordCamp Europe 2019, kicked off Day 1 by speaking about the importance of people in the WordPress Community.

β€œThe code is poetry, but the community is where the heart is.”, Milan IvanoviΔ‡.

Well said!

After that, sessions on content, business, Gutenberg, accessibility, and development continued throughout the day.

Day 1 turned out great for the APPExperts booth as we met many great people who are actively making efforts to offer a better experience for WordPress users.

Day 1 turned out to be a day filled with emotions, as people were so thrilled and happy to see each other again after years. WCEU 2022 will be remembered as a highly anticipated and emotional event by both new and old participants.
